Royal Fans Are 'Completely Lost for Words' as King Charles Marks Major Milestone in Animal Rescue Endeavors
King Charles III has some new feathered friends joining him on royal grounds!
The monarch recently made several new additions to his Gloucestershire estate by re-homing 31 new chickens to live at Highgrove Gardens—and royal fans are delighted about the news.
Not only does the news come as an admirable gesture in Charles' animal rescue efforts, but it also marks a special milestone for the British Hen Welfare Trust, where His Majesty adopted his new birds.
With his 31 new additions, the King has officially re-homed the organization's one-millionth hen, and decided to give it a very special—and fitting—name: Henrietta.
"Welcoming Henrietta to her new coop 🐔!" read a post shared to the organization's Instagram page on Friday, Aug. 23.
"His Majesty The King has rehomed our ONE MILLIONTH hen at Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire. Our millionth hen, named Henrietta by His Majesty, along with 30 feathered friends are settling into their wonderful new home, having arrived last week."
"Thank you to every single hen lover who has helped us reach this incredible achievement," they also noted in the post, while sharing a video of Henrietta and her new digs at Highgrove Gardens.
"Absolutely wonderful! How lovely to see Henrietta and her friends in such a beautiful place, they’re going to be very happy," one user wrote in the comments on the Instagram video.
Charles, 75, is now being praised by fans for his ongoing commitment to animal rescue causes, with users on Instagram taking to the comments to applaud the "absolutely phenomenal achievement"
One user said "Completely lost for words!" over Charles' gesture, calling the news, "the ultimate celebration of the profound impact this amazing charity has had on animal welfare in the UK! 👏."
"Queen Henrietta, by Royal Appointment 👑👑👑" someone else quipped.
Another user commented under the post, "Bravo to His Majesty."
