Royal expert claims Meghan Markle's baby shower showed a 'lack of respect'

She grew up in Tinseltown and went to TV sets as a kid with her lighting director dad, and according to a royal expert, Meghan Markle is struggling to leave that life behind.

The pregnant, 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex hit the headlines last week when a whole stream of A-listers were spotted arriving at a New York hotel for her lavish baby shower.

Serena Williams, Amal Clooney and Meghan’s best friend and stylist, Jessica Mulroney, all arrived with opulent gifts for the shower, which cost $660,000, according to the Daily Mail.

Now, Angela Levin, who wrote Harry: A Biography of a Prince, believes Meghan’s show of wealth shows a ‘lack of respect’ for the royal family.

“Being royal comes with duties and obligations quite different from those of Hollywood,” she told the Mail on Sunday.

“Yet I am not so sure this is something she accepts, unlike her husband.”

Angela believes Prince Harry needs to be more a guidance to Meghan, who joined the royal family last May.

Yesterday, Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, claimed Prince William also wouldn’t be a fan of the show of wealth at Meghan’s baby shower.

“I think Prince William will be angered by all of Meghan’s lavish extravagance this week and the fact her baby shower looked so ‘celebrity’ rather than ‘royal’,” Paul wrote in a column for The Sun.

“He has spent years working with the press to give them what they want but also gets what he wants in return – privacy.

“Meghan is doing exactly what he doesn’t – courting attention all for her and her baby.
