Robert De Niro, 79, announces his newborn daughter’s name as he shares first picture of his 7th child

Robert De Niro has shared his first photo of his newborn daughter – and revealed her name.

The 79-year-old actor surprised many earlier this week when he announced during an interview that he was now a father of seven.

Following the announcement, Gayle King shared new details about the little one during Thursday’s episode of CBS Mornings, revealing the child was born last month on April 6.

King then shared a photo of the newborn and said that her full name is Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro before adding that the Hollywood star and his partner, Tiffany Chen, are “over the moon” about the newest addition.

The broadcaster went on to explain that she asked De Niro if his new baby was “planned” to which he responded “yes” adding that both he and Chen, who he met on the set of 2015’s The Intern, “wanted her”.

King then emphasised how “psyched” and “excited” the Meet The Parents actor was about having his seventh child.

On Tuesday, The Godfather actor surprised many when he confirmed that he had become a father for the seventh time several months before his 80^th birthday while promoting his comedy, About My Father.

ET Canada presenter Brittnee Blair stated during their chat: “I know you have six kids,” to which the actor corrected her, replying: “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.”

Following his surprise announcement, his About My Father co-star Kim Cattrall appeared to confirm the identity of his child’s mother, Chen, before it was revealed by PageSix.

Speaking to Extra at the premiere, Cattrall said: “God bless him, his significant other. Tiffany is such a beautiful woman.

“She came to the set once with her family and watched filming, and she was gorgeous and sweet. I’m happy for both of them.”

Along with his newborn daughter Gia, DeNiro has six other children from previous relationships.

De Niro welcomed daughter Drena, 51, and son Raphael, 46, with his first wife, American actor Diahnne Abbott, who he was married to from 1976 to 1988.

Then in 1995, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model Toukie Smith. The Oscar winner also has two children, son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen Grace, 11, with ex-wife Grace Hightower.
