Riverdale couple Camila Mendes and Charles Melton 'taking a break'
Riverdale co-stars and off-screen love birds Camila Mendes, 25, and Charles Melton, 28, are reportedly stepping away from their year-long relationship.
“Cami and Charles have been separated for a few months now. They are taking a break from their relationship,” a source told E! News on Wednesday.
“Their relationship escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves,” the source added.
Camila and Charles met on the set of their Netflix teen drama and sparked romance rumours in early 2018 after stepping out together at events.
The couple celebrated their one-year anniversary on August 24 by sharing heartfelt posts on their respective Instagram accounts.
Both actors shared a PDA-filled pic and declared their love for each other in the caption, but neither has posted a photo together since.
Neither party have commented on their relationship status nor the reason behind the split, however, E! News’ source claims that the pair felt ‘busy and overwhelmed’ with their work schedules.
Charles has been in Louisiana shooting his new film Swing while Camila has been spending time at home with her new maltipoo rescue, Truffle.
Despite the breakup, the show must go on and both are still filming Riverdale season four but are said to be remaining ‘cordial’ on set.
