Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 boasts some "interesting villains", according to Galadriel star Morfydd Clark.

With shooting on the Prime Video fantasy epic well underway in the UK, Clark recently spoke to Collider about what fans can expect.

"What I can tease about season 2 is, there's some very interesting villains coming," she shared.

While this insight doesn't give much away, it seems that The Rings of Power isn't going to be solely relying on the dark lord Sauron.

The show's executive producer Lindsey Weber previously hinted that the new episodes will be slightly "scarier", explaining: "Season 2 is fundamentally different in that our main villain is out and about, and doing his thing. I think in some ways, it's going to grittier, more intense, maybe a little scarier."

Elsewhere in her interview, Saint Maud star Clark revealed which skills she's most proud of learning for the role of warrior elf Galadriel.

"There's two. The first one was, I thought I could swim, and then after my first swimming lesson, he was like, 'Okay, so we need to go back to basics', and I was like, 'Oh, what? I thought I could do this'," she began.

"So now I can properly swim, which was a skill I didn't really know I needed to learn. Now, I can't believe I was ever in the sea.

"Something I just never thought I was going to be able to do was the two-handed sword fight because I'm very un-ambidextrous, and that was amazing. That came through encouragement and the most incredible teaching from loads of people within the stunt department, and my wonderful stunt double, Rosalie Button, kind of really believing in me."
