Richard Madeley reported to be doing 'I'm A Celebrity' and fans pray it's true

Richard Madeley fans are crossing their fingers that reports he is going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! are true.

It has been reported that the TV star, 65, is going to be a camp mate on the upcoming series of the ITV reality show, and viewers think he would be “TV gold”.

According to The Sun, Madeley has signed a deal worth £200,000 to move into Gwrych Castle in Wales, where the show will be held for the second year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Yahoo has contacted ITV and Madeley for comment.

“Richard’s been asked year after year but the timing has never been right. But now, finally, he’s said ‘Yes’,” a source told the paper, saying he was a “fantastic coup” for show bosses.

Fans are now praying that the report is right and that Madeley will be a 2021 camper.

“Richard Madeley in #ImACeleb will be TV gold!” one person posted on Twitter.

“Waking up to the best news, happy days, I'm so excited!” gushed another.

“God, I hope it’s true that Richard Madeley is doing #imacelebrity,” tweeted one person.

“It’ll be the nearest thing to Alan Partridge making an appearance.”

“Please God let this be true,” pleaded another.

I’m A Celebrity is due to start in November.

The long-running contest is traditionally based in the Australian jungle but in 2020 coronavirus travel restrictions forced camp to relocate to Abergele in North Wales.

In August it was confirmed that this year's celebrity cast will be returning to the Welsh castle again, along with hosts Ant and Dec.
