Richard Hudock Elevated to Lead MSNBC Communications
Richard Hudock, a communications executive known for his rapid response to even the most trifling queries about the operations of TV news, has been named vice president of communications at MSNBC.
Hudock will supervise the communications strategy and media outreach for the entire MSNBC portfolio, including “Morning Joe,” the network’s daytime “MSNBC Reports” programs, primetime shows and talent, weekend coverage and longform productions, as well as non-linear content and live events. He will also serve as the principal communications lead for MSNBC President Rashida Jones. Hudock will continue to report to Stephen Labaton, executive vice president of communications for NBCUniversal News Group.

As part of his promotion, Hudock will cede oversight of communications for NBC News’ Washington-based programs and operations, including “Meet The Press,” to Dana Klinghoffer, senior vice president of communications for NBC News, who expands her portfolio. Klinghoffer, who joined NBC News in 2017 and was named senior vice president in 2022, continues to oversee communications for NBC Nightly News, Dateline, NBC News Now, NBCNews.com, NBC News Studios.
Megan Stackhouse, an NBC News publicity veteran who has run media relations for the news division’s vast “Today” franchise, will continue with her senior vice president role.
Hudock first joined NBCU News Group in 2018, based in the network’s Washington Bureau overseeing communications for Meet the Press and D.C. reporting beats. He later relocated to New York to work across NBC News and MSNBC on both networks’ political portfolios, including presidential debates and election programming. Hudock previously worked for CNN in Washington and Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas.
