Richard Gere's Wife Shares Scenic Photo Ahead of Major Life Change

Richard Gere and his family are planning a major move—but not without showing some appreciation for their current home first.

The 75-year-old actor's wife, Alejandra Silva, took to Instagram on Sunday, Oct. 27, to share a stunning photo of fall foliage.

"Nuestro otoño.. 🍂 #newyork #connecticut my favorite season," Silva, 41, captioned the post.

According to Hello!, Gere and Silva, a publicist and political activist, are currently getting ready to move from New Canaan, Conn.—where they reside in the former home of Paul Simon—to Madrid, Spain, with their sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4.

The couple has reportedly been planning to relocate for quite some time. Gere and Silva, a native of Spain, were seen visiting properties and checking out schools in Madrid's upscale residential neighborhoods last year. Their new home will be a three-story mansion in the La Moraleja area on over 10,000 square meters of land featuring a private wine cellar and heated pool.

The Pretty Woman star and his wife tied the knot in 2018. In August 2024, Silva celebrated Gere's 75th birthday with an emotional post on Instagram.

"After 11 amazing years together, it still feels like the day we first met," she wrote. "The journey we’ve shared, the beautiful family we’ve built, and the memories we’ve created are more than I could have ever dreamed of. You make my life better in every way, and I’m so grateful to have you by my side."
