Reverie by Caroline Hu Spring 2025: Big Emotions, Bigger Dresses

Chinese designer Caroline Hu said she began the spring 2025 collection with big emotions.

“I am obsessed with watching the news. With everything that’s happening in the world, I have strong feelings about many things. I tried to capture my feelings with paintings, and then I translated them into dresses. My pattern cutter hates me because I never start from the sketch,” Hu said.

The designer offered mesmerizing dramatic-shaped, bigger-than-life dresses in taffeta, printed silk organza and fine stretch jersey, where her signature oil painting-like smocking technique done by Sophie Hallette collided with pussy bows, raffles, a Casetify phone case with a handcrafted ceramic pendant top, and her second sneaker collaboration with Adidas Original on SL72 and Superstar that will go on sale from Nov. 1.

The show was followed by a contemporary dance performance by Emma Portner and Léo Handtschoewercker. Hu said the choreography was deeply linked to the collection’s moodier tone, where all the colors seen on the runway represented the negative feelings Hu has been having when she is alone in her bed.
