Rescued Street Dog Decides Unconventional Life at Sanctuary Is the Perfect Home for Him

Shelters and rescues work tirelessly to ensure animals find the perfect forever homes. Although some animals may return to the shelter if the match isn’t right, they find their ideal person the next time. My two rescues were returned before finding their place with me, and I couldn’t be more grateful that their initial failures resulted in my extraordinary good fortune.

However, this adorable dog wasn’t interested in leaving the sanctuary for a traditional family of his own. He knew he had already found his people and was in the ideal home.

Sweet Dino is just the best boy! His loving mom at @skysanctuaryrescue describes this handsome fellow as an unconventional dog who is unapologetically living his unconventional life. She reveals this sweetheart has been living at the sanctuary for more than a year, and it’s where he’ll stay. Although he had been adopted once, he was soon returned because of severe separation anxiety. While his team of rescuers wanted him to go to his own home, they soon realized he had already found it. How sweet! He’s delighted with his routine, adores the people who care for him, and enjoys all his extraordinary adventures. She describes how they feel honored he chose Sky Sanctuary as his home and are thrilled to provide him with everything he needs, especially unconditional love. If that isn’t the ideal place to call home, I’m not sure what is. It’s a testament to the people who have provided him with such extraordinary care.

Reasons to Adopt a Rescue

While Dino may have chosen this sanctuary as his home, many dogs of all breeds and sizes are still patiently waiting to find their forever family. When you adopt instead of shop, you give a dog a second chance, potentially saving them from euthanasia or prolonged stay in stressful conditions. Rescues always seem to understand this, giving them an incredible sense of gratitude. Most are already vaccinated and spayed or neutered, which can reduce veterinary fees compared to buying a dog. Many also come with behavioral insights from their previous experiences, which can help ensure you choose the right dog for your lifestyle.
