Report: 3 more Titans test positive for coronavirus, bringing team total to at least 16

Three more people from the Tennessee Titans’ organization have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

One of the new positives is reportedly a player, and the other two are staff members.

The Titans, whose first positive tests were announced Tuesday, have had multiple days with new positive tests. With Saturday’s news, at least 16 members of the organization have tested positive for the coronavirus (eight players and eight staff members).

NFL has already moved Titans-Steelers game

The NFL has already postponed the Titans’ scheduled Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That game will now be played Week 7 as a result of the Titans’ outbreak. Both the Steelers and Titans will treat Week 4 as if it’s their bye week.

The additional positive tests Saturday could put the Titans’ Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills in jeopardy.

The Titans’ practice facility remains closed in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. It will presumably take days with no new positive tests before the NFL reopens the facility. If the Titans continue to test positive for the coronavirus, the team won’t have time to get back to team facilities before they play the Bills. That game is slated to take place in Tennessee, so the Titans would not need an additional day to travel.

Vikings continue to test negative

The Minnesota Vikings continue to turn in negative tests. The Titans and Vikings played in Week 3 before the Titans’ first positive test result, and the NFL feared the virus could have spread to the Vikings as a result of that game.

That hasn’t been the case thus far.

On Friday, the NFL said the Vikings’ Week 4 game against the Houston Texans would take place as scheduled.
