“You hold the baby and cut the umbilical cord and literally from that moment on, you’re just like - it was just amazing and so emotional,” she said.

Rebel went on to admit that she’s found it difficult trying to navigate her new role while still achieving her career goals and building a relationship with her girlfriend Ramona Agruma.

“It's really challenging,” she shared. “I have this big international career and I'm the breadwinner of my family—I like to think. So it's really challenging too, like, ‘Well, now how do I do all the things and be a great mother and great partner and all of that?’.”

After a big career year in 2022 starring in the Netflix comedy Senior Year and her first drama The Almond and the Seahorse, Rebel will take on her first-ever role as a director in 2023.

The Pitch Perfect star will direct and produce a feature film version of the Australian musical The Deb, written by Hannah Reilly with music by Megan Washington. It’s reported that Rebel’s production company Camp Sugar Productions began scouting for locations in November.

'A beautiful miracle'

“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!”

She went on to say that she is “ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable” and she is “learning quickly”, adding: “Much respect to all the mums out there! Proud to be in your club.”
