The RealReal Launches New ‘Rare Finds’ Category With Similar Pieces Worn by Madonna, Rihanna and More
Luxury brand resale website The RealReal has launched a new category called “Rare Finds.” The new vertical, revealed Monday, features several pieces that are the same or nearly identical versions to items worn by Kylie Jenner, Tina Turner, Rihanna, Madonna and other celebrities.
In the past, extraordinary pieces like those were scattered throughout the platform. Now The RealReal features the Rare Finds category on the homepage as a dedicated vertical. The category is aimed at vintage collectors, celebrity stylists looking for rare pieces and customers with a deep knowledge of red-carpet fashion history.

“We launched RareFinds as a one-stop destination for these exceptional items in order to provide even greater service to customers who might be interested in adding something to their personal collection or looking to sell one of their own treasures. As interest in vintage and unique luxury investments continues to grow, we hope the RareFinds category provides better insights into The RealReal’s assortment of exquisite pieces thanks to our team of knowledgeable and experienced experts,” Alex Tudela, senior lead, fashion and partnerships of The RealReal, told WWD.
To help launch the vertical, The RealReal partnered with well-known designer clothing collector Keni Valenti, who has consigned more than 300 pieces from his personal collection in honor of the launch of Rare Finds. Some of the pieces offered include an Alaïa evening gown from the fall 1988 runway worn by the legendary Tina Turner; a Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra A-line dress from the fall 1990 collection, similar to the one Madonna wore during her “Blonde Ambition” tour; a Thierry Mugler Space Age quilted motorcycle jacket from the spring 1990 runway worn by Kylie Jenner, and a vintage faux fur Chanel jacket from the fall 1994 runway worn by model Yasmeen Ghauri. Model Brandi Quinones wore it for Chanel’s fall 1994 campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld, and the jacket has been seen on Rihanna and North West in alternative colors.
Earlier this month, The RealReal celebrated National Consignment Month with a dinner party attended by Jenna Lyons, Cass Bird, Helena Christensen and Pat Cleveland. The dinner party also celebrated the launch of their Consign Commitment, a pledge that urges consumers to consign at least one in five items from their closet moving forward to drive meaningful and impactful environmental change and create a more sustainable future for fashion.
