Get Ready For Ralph Lauren's Spring-Summer 2025 Show With Grace Burns
Considering her mother is Christy Turlington, style runs in her DNA.
If there's one thing you can expect from Ralph Lauren's shows, it's that it'll always be an affair to remember. Fashion heavy hitters, loyal friends of the brand, and a star-studded guest list that included Usher, Nara and Lucky Blue Smith, Colman Domingo, Joey King, and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden all traveled to a sprawling, picturesque horse farm in Bridgehampton to experience Lauren's spring-summer 2025 collections for his namesake line, Purple Label, and Polo.
The storied designer showcased wearable classics that were taken to glamorous extremes and easily earned a spot amongst the best looks of NYFW. Take, for instance, a simple white cotton tank top worn with a gold sequin evening skirt or buttery suedes with fringe and lace motifs. Sylish, traditionally preppy pieces proved why, after five decades, that brand is still the pinnacle of American sportswear. The three collections featured a diverse cast of models ranging from adorable kids to catwalk icons like Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington.
For Turlington, the show was a family affair. The supermodel was joined on the runway by her nephew, James Turlington, and her daughter, Grace Burns. While Burns has only been modeling professionally for a little over a year, she looked like a pro as she walked down the runway in a layered blue plaid look accessorized with a brown basket hobo bag and cascading pearl earrings. This was the first time Burns walked in the same show as her legendary mother, and she granted InStyle an exclusive and intimate behind-the-scenes look at how she got ready for the runway.
This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.
Her Sense of Style
"I'm easy! A worn pair of jeans, a soft T-shirt, and maybe a sweater, or more than one," Burns says. "You can never be too cozy. As long as the pieces I have are reliable, I'm happy!"
Her Ralph Lauren Look
"I loved my look. It was endless layers of blue, one after another. I had a gorgeous button-down shirt, and I had a little sarong wrapped as a skirt. The colors were so vibrant and so familiar."
Her Beauty Look For the Night
"My makeup was really natural and lightweight. I loved the mixture of simple glam with all the bright colors in the show."
Her Getting-Ready Playlist
"I've been listening to The Kills nonstop, so anything by them! Hopefully, channeling a bit of Alison Mosshart!"
What She Loves About the Catwalk
"The fact that it's live. You do the rehearsal once or twice beforehand, and even though you're only walking, I love the feeling that anything can happen."
Her After-Show Plans
"I just wanted to chat with all the girls. Everyone is so sweet and kind, especially since it's one of my first shows. I don't know many people, so it was really nice to spend the day with everyone and get to know them better."
The Show in Three Words
"Timeless. Home. Togetherness."
