Rachel Lindsay Says Bryan Abasolo Divorce Has Taught Her to Be 'Very Resilient' amid Hardship
Abasolo filed for divorce from Lindsay on Jan. 2, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair have since traded jabs about the prior state of their marriage
Rachel Lindsay is learning to embrace her new era of life.
The former Bachelorette, 39, is in the midst of a drawn-out divorce from Bryan Abasolo, whom she met and got engaged to on her season of The Bachelorette in 2017 and married in 2019. But she's absorbing all the life lessons she can in this period.
"I'm stronger than I think," the former attorney told E! News. "I feel like I'm learning something every single day."
Lindsay shared that she's "just being very resilient" and "really leaning on family and friends" as she continues battling out the divorce with Abasolo, 44, to whom she's been court-ordered to give spousal support despite her fervent opposition.
"A lot of people think because you carry yourself a certain way that you're always strong. Over time, my family has realized, 'No, we have to check her to make sure everything is OK,' because sometimes you need them," Lindsay told the outlet.
Since Abasolo filed for divorce on Jan. 2, citing irreconcilable differences, the former couple have traded jabs at each other in various court filings.
Lindsay revealed in June that Abasolo informed her via text message that he had filed for divorce, which she was "shocked" by.
Abasolo then provided new messages opposing Lindsay's claims, asserting she was not "surprised or shocked" by his decision to divorce her. He claimed that she "fail[ed] to disclose" in her filing that he'd sent her a text stating his intentions to take their split to "the next step" before he officially filed.
Along with disagreements over how the divorce actually was communicated, Lindsay and Abasolo have shared damning accounts of what their four-year marriage looked like behind closed doors.
In a July filing, the chiropractor claimed that his ex-wife "never showed any interest in [his] business" and that her "jet-setting career often took her away from our martial residence while I stayed home." He also claimed that Lindsay wanted him "out of the way" and "not involved in 'Hollywood.'"
"The reality is that I was the one stuck at home and stuck at work with a wife who never wanted to be around me during our marriage," he further claimed.

Lindsay, for her part, said in a June filing that the couple "rarely saw each other or even lived together during [their] brief marriage." The former attorney said she "traveled so much for work that I was rarely in Miami with Bryan" in their first year of marriage, and they "very rarely went out together and did not even go on monthly dates."
