He was already walking on cloud nine after hearing his show Queer Eye was nominated for four Emmys, and hairdresser-turned-TV star Jonathan Van Ness left the internet feeling all the feels after he was told his Funny or Die web series, Gay of Thrones, had also been nominated.
The 31-year-old shared an adorable video with his 1.8 million strong Insta-fam of the moment he realised Gay of Thrones was up for a gong, and it’s quickly gone viral.
“The moment I found out about #gayofthrones,” Jonathan captioned the clip.
“We all just had found out about @queereye 4 nominations, all my friends here are so supportive and excited for my success as much as theirs.
“Gay of Thrones was a baby idea @gibblertronand I had that literally was a pipe dream. This is incredible, so many thanks so much love, here is to all our dreams.”
Basically looking like a little kid on Christmas morning, Jonathan can be seen bouncing up and down, bending over in disbelief and being smothered with hugs by his Queer Eye castmates, Bobby Berk, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Karamo Brown.
Jonathan admits Gay of Thrones – a hilariously popular parody of Game of Thrones – was his first introduction to comedy, and saw him realise his dreams for working in the entertainment industry.
With the Emmy Awards on September 17, Jonathan reveals he’s still enjoying his pinch-me moment, but there’ll be some serious prep in the lead-up to the ceremony.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do yet, but I’m going to do a gorgeous face mask,” Jonathan joked to ET.
“I definitely want to keep the skin looking right. We have some werk to do now, and I’m excited!”
