People think the Queen was trolling Trump with her outfit

It’s rare that a Donald Trump outing of any kind will go without its share of public scrutiny, dissecting of protocol breaches, or even conspiracy theories.

The latest has people on Twitter musing about whether the Queen herself was doing some subtle trolling of the US president during the royal State Banquet dinner on Monday.

And it all comes down to the Queen’s choice of outfit - specifically her tiara - as well as the gift that she gave the president.

She chose her Burmese Ruby Tiara for the occasion, which was created for her in 1973 by Garrard and Co.

The 96 stones used for the piece originally came from a necklace that was given to her as a wedding present in 1947 by the people of Burma, now known as Myanmar.

And after doing some research into it, the Twitterverse discovered that Burma intended it to be a symbol that would ward off signs of evil and illness.

Obviously once the link was discovered, the hilarious comments started flooding in, with plenty of people commending the Queen on her ‘sass’.

The fact she gave the president a rare-jewel-encrusted copy of Winston Churchill's The Second World War, was another point people enjoyed musing over.

A few did come to Trump’s defence claiming there was way too much thought going into the theory that the Queen actually intentionally trolled the PLOTUS.

It’s not the first time the public has thought the Queen might be pulling a clever one over everyone.

When she hosted Donald Trump and wife Melania for tea at Windsor Castle last year, people thought she was trolling the POTUS with her brooch.

One Twitter user pointed out on the first day the president arrived in the UK, Thursday 12 July 2018, the Queen was pictured wearing a brooch that was given to her by Barack and Michelle Obama.

The next day when the Queen actually met Trump and she chose to wear a brooch she inherited from the Queen Mother. The brooch was worn in the famous ‘Three Queens in Mourning’ portrait.
