Queen Elizabeth II recently had the delight of hosting President Donald Trump and his wife Melania for tea at Windsor Castle.
However, some on social media seem to think Her Majesty was discreetly trolling Trump through her choice of brooches.
One Twitter user went into great depth over the monarch’s choice of accessories to wear during Trump’s time in the United Kingdom.
The Twitter user named Julie (@SamuraiKnitter) created a #BroochDecoderRing thread, alluding to the fact the Queen may have secretly trolled Trump.
She pointed out on the first day the president arrived in the UK, Thursday 12 July, the Queen was pictured wearing a brooch that was given to her by Barack and Michelle Obama.
Even more notable, it was a gift that was given to the monarch as a “personal gift”.
The next day when the Queen actually met Trump and she chose to wear a brooch she inherited from the Queen Mother.
It was worn by the Queen Mother to the state funeral of King George VI, the Queen’s father.
The brooch was worn in the famous ‘Three Queens in Mourning’ portrait.
It’s safe to say it was a very interesting choice of brooch to wear when meeting the president.
On Saturday, Trump’s final day in the UK, the Queen wore yet another significant brooch from her collection, ‘The Sapphire Jubilee Brooch’.
It was gifted to Her Majesty by the Canadian people to mark the monarch’s 65-year reign and we all know President Trump isn’t the biggest of fans of Canada.
Julie’s Twitter thread gained some traction and it seems people agree that the Queen was “shading” Trump during his UK visit.

Let’s recap: when The Queen met Trump she wore a brooch *that the Obamas gave her*. Then one representing *Canada* and snowflakes. Then one famous for being worn to a *funeral*, by people who *didn’t like Nazis*. Top brooch trolling, Your Majesty.

If that wasn’t enough, some also thought the 93-year-old was trolling Trump through her choice of outfit when they met.
She wore blue, not red.
For reference, blue is the colour of the democratic party in the USA and red represents the republican party aka Trump’s party.
Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, dressed in bright blue for her tea with Trump & tramp.
Blue. Not red. Blue.
Coincidence? I think not.
Methinks the old gal is a member of the Resistance.
Troll on, Liz!

Whether all of this is just a coincidence or not, the Queen still continues to be the ultimate #KWEEN.
