All the Projects Matthew Perry and His Dad, John Bennett Perry, Both Starred In
Including 'Friends', 'Scrubs' and a blockbuster film
Like father, like son.
Matthew Perry, who died on Oct. 28 at the age of 54, followed his father, John Bennett Perry's footsteps when he chose to be an actor. Throughout both of their careers, the pair had the chance to share a few credits — and even played a father and son duo in two projects.
From Fools Rush In to Friends, see all the times Matthew and John Bennett Perry worked on the same projects.
'Home Free'
Not long before landing the role as the beloved Chandler Bing on Friends, Perry appeared on the short-lived series Home Free. His father appeared in one episode of the series as well, per IMDb, and he played a judge.
'Fools Rush In'
The two also got the opportunity to play father and son on the big screen in 1997's Fools Rush In, a project Matthew called "probably my best movie."
'Scrubs'
Another one of these special occasions was a 2004 episode of Scrubs, where both Perry men made a cameo.
'The West Wing'
Though they did not appear on the same episode, or even the same season, both men had their time on The West Wing. John's turn came in a 2001 episode of the political drama, while Matthew made recurring appearances in 2003.
'Friends'
During Matthew's 10-season tenure on Friends, the cast welcomed plenty of guest stars. Again, John and Matthew didn't share the screen in this instance, but during season 4 of the hit show, John played the father of a man Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) was dating.
