Princess Mary's awkward awards show blunder

Most of the time they are the picture of professionalism, poise and grace, but even members of the royal family sometimes have an awkward blunder.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the Design Awards 2018 this week, held at the Bellevue Theater north of Copenhagen.

She was asked to present one of the 12 design awards handed out on the night to honour the best Danish designers and design talents, but things didn’t quite go to plan on stage.

While presenting the prestigious award for Designer of the Year to designer and architect Lars Vejen, the contents of the awards box fell out and landed on stage much to the dismay of Princess Mary and the recipient.

Photos were being taken of the pair, and captured the awkward moment, before the award was put back together.

Despite the mishap, Princess Mary looked stunning in a mint green power suit.

Fingers crossed she avoids any more blunders, especially during her trip down under set to take place next month.

It was announced recently that Princess Mary and husband Crown Prince Frederik would be making a surprise trip down under for the Invictus Games held in Sydney.

Joining Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Australia in October, Aussie-born Princess Mary and Prince Frederick are on the guest list for the games, The Sunday Telegraph revealed.
