She may be the newest member of the royal family but Meghan Markle is already being trusted to take on some of the biggest roles in the House of Windsor.
The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry on May 19th, is apparently already being trained to take on more duties in preparation for when Prince William becomes king.
“The Duchess of Sussex will have an important role to develop as one day she will be sister in law to the King,” former royal butler Grant Harrold told Express.co.uk.
“She will take on duties on behalf of the monarch as we see the Royals do today for the Queen.”
Indeed, the former Suits actress has been extremely busy since she joined the royal family, even attending a solo event with the Queen in Cheshire in May.
She’s also already been in her first overseas trip with Prince Harry, with the pair traveling to Ireland last month to meet with President Michael D. Higgins.
In July, Meghan and Prince Harry visited the Nelson Mandela centenary exhibition at the Southbank Centre in London and has joined the royal family on the Bukcingam Palace balcony twice now.
As for Kate Middleton, Grant Harrold reckons we’ll be seeing a lot more of her when she gets back from maternity leave.
“I imagine we will see more of the Duchess of Cambridge as she prepares for her future role as Queen,” he said.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry have just returned from their family vacation to Mustique and it’s expected we’ll catch a glimpse of her and the kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, when they visit the Queen during her summer retreat to Balmoral.
