Prince Harry gives up alcohol to support pregnant Meghan

Not long after touching down in Australia for their overseas tour, the world learnt the exciting news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child.

And it seems Prince Harry is doing everything he can to support his wife throughout her pregnancy, including giving up drinking alcohol.

The 34-year-old has been known to enjoy a good party and was caught stumbling out of many a London nightclub and enjoying wild nights in Las Vegas hotels, in his younger years.

However, he reportedly gave up booze from the moment he found out his wife Meghan, 37, was pregnant.

“Meghan obviously cannot drink during her pregnancy and Harry wants to be there to support her,” a royal source told The Sun.

“When they are in London, they have been spending more nights in together as he cannot go out drinking with friends like he used to.”

It’s not the first time Meghan has had an influence over his lifestyle choices either. In the lead up to their May wedding, clean-eating Meghan reportedly put Harry on a strict diet that involved cutting out junk food and replacing them with freshly squeezed juices.

But despite her healthy diet the Duchess herself – who is believed to be due around the month of April – has also previously spoken out about her love of wine.

During an interview with Best Health in 2015, Meghan said, “Of course, I’m going to have that glass of wine – it’s delicious and I enjoy it.”

“Do the things you enjoy within reason. Know your body and what works for you and you’ll be fine,” she continued.

Their lifestyle change comes after Kensington Palace released a statement on Monday announcing the happy news there was a royal baby on the way.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the tweet read.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
