What is dragon fruit?

This bright pink fruit is the fruit of a cactus plant. Grown in Southeast Asia, Mexico and South America, they’re crunchy in texture and sweet in taste – a bit like a cross between kiwi and pear.

What are the health benefits of dragon fruit?

Dragon fruit is low in calories and is high in vitamin C. It also has numerous other nutrients, including phosphorus, calcium, fibre and antioxidants.

How to eat dragon fruit

To have on its own, just cut the fruit in half and spoon out and eat the flesh from the skin. The skin is not edible! You can also add them to fruit salads and shakes.

    It must just be me, but the one I had eaten had a very nice lite flavour to it. Not strong, but just JUST there....which I guess could be a turn off?

    Overrated. They look amazing but are very disappointing. Full of beautiful juice that tastes like NOTHING.
