Five beauty hacks you can find in your kitchen

With so many beauty products on the market, it can be hard to find products that are fragrance, colour, paraben, alcohol and artificial preservatives free ingredients which may lead to irritation. Take a closer look around your kitchen, where there are more natural remedies than you think, which are natural and effective (minus the high price tag)!

So, to find out just what we can use and how, we'e enlisted the help of Naturopath and author of Digestive Solutions, Michele Wolff. Below are her top five edible beauty hacks to naturally rejuvenate your skin.

Manuka Honey to relive dry itchy skin
"Studies show that Manuka honey helps in the management of minor wounds and skin healing[i]. Manuka honey may be the secret to the symptomatic relief of itchy skin and eczema. If the thought of applying Manuka honey to your itch seems a little sticky, you can purchase products containing medical grade Manuka honey to help relief itching of dry skin."

Avocado face masks
"Vitamin E found in avocado may help with cell regeneration as well as making your skin feel soft and smooth. Squish a soft avocado and apply onto your face (avoid your eyes). After 10 minutes, rinse with warm water – your skin will fell silky and smooth. "

Coconut Oil for lip hydration
It’s most important to choose a natural lip balm as you are likely to ingest some of what you put on your lips. Derived from fresh coconuts, coconut oil is a natural moisturiser. Fill up some little tubes with coconut oil to carry it in your handbag and apply to dry cracked winter lips.
Coffee Grounds to help combat cellulite
Caffeine, the main ingredient of coffee, boosts metabolism and blood circulation. As a result it improves skin regeneration, which is why it is often used as a treatment for cellulite. Gently massage coffee grounds on your skin."

Tea Bags for dark eye circles
"An effective remedy for eye puffiness is using black tea bags. Simply soak a teabag in hot water and let it cool off a little before putting on your closed eyes. Relax for about 20 minutes, then rinse and pat dry. The tannic acid in black tea reduces swelling and soothes the skin around your eyes."
