Rihanna’s New York Fashion Week show took an unprecedented turn when one of the models reportedly went into labour right after her stint on the runway.
Pregnant model, 22-year-old Slick Woods, strutted her stuff down Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie runway show in a pair of lace stockings, a cut-out bodysuit and a pair of nipple covers.
And while Slick, who is also the face of Fenty Beauty, may have rocked the runway, it’s claimed organisers were forced to call an ambulance the moment she left the catwalk, when she went into labour.
TMZ reports that Slick was rushed to hospital, where she gave birth to a baby boy, called Saphir.
Slick found fame at 19-years-old after making friends with British model, Ash Stymest, at a bus stop in LA.
She was then introduced to the world of fashion and after being hired for Kanye West’s 2016 Yeezy showcase, she was unstoppable.
However, her past hasn’t always been an easy ride, as he mum was sent to prison when Slick was just six-years-old.
Then followed a drug addiction at the age of 17, which she’s now proud to say she’s overcome.
“I would drink eight ounces of lean”—opioid-based cough syrup—“and take nine Xanax a day,” Slick previously told Glamour Magazine.
“I used to go days without feeding my dog sometimes, the same dog I have now. I was awful. I was broken.”
Now, she’s one of the leading models in Rihanna’s shows and also walked for designer Jeremy Scott in this year’s NYFW.
