Week 39 of your Pregnancy

You

You’re almost there! Any day now, you will be a mother. It’s an exciting time but also one that fills many women with apprehension. Just go with the flow as much as you can. Don’t forget to get some photos of your enormous baby belly – before long you wont be able to believe that you were ever that big!

Baby

Your baby is around 48 to 50cm in length and he weighs around 3 to 3.25 kilos. He’s pretty squished and his head is likely to have dropped deep into your pelvis. While you may hear about baby’s head being ‘engaged’ in the lead-up to birth, it’s common (especially with a first baby) for this to happen during labour, so don’t worry too much if your caregiver tells you baby is not yet engaged.
