Week 30 of your Pregnancy

You

Your shape has changed a lot and you may find that your back and legs are aching when you are on your feet for a while. Bending over is getting more difficult and your whole centre of gravity has changed – you may already be doing the pregnancy waddle, to counteract the weird way your body weight is distributed.

Yoga exercises for pregnancy can be very helpful from now on, to stretch and strengthen your abdominal and back muscles and relieve those aches. Be kind to yourself, take your time moving between sitting and standing, and don’t try to push things too far.

Baby

Your baby weighs around 1.5 kilograms and measures around 40 cm. His head is still way out of proportion to the rest of his body, measuring around 8cm in diameter. He is growing fingernails this week – in fact, but the time he is born, his toenails and fingernails may already be long enough to need trimming. And he is now starting to accumulate fat under his skin, ready to keep him warm and protect him when he enters the world.
