Week 17 of your Pregnancy

You

Thanks to those pregnancy hormones, all your ligaments have softened and you need to take a little more care with lifting and stretching. As your belly grows, your centre of gravity is shifting, so it’s time to put those stilettos away and embrace the joy of flat shoes. Those softened ligaments (together with foot swelling in later pregnancy) can also increase the size of your feet by up to a whole shoe size during pregnancy – and for around 20 percent of women, the increase is permanent. If your feet are getting sore, buy a couple of pairs of roomy, comfortable shoes with decent arch support to try to relieve the problem.

Baby

Your baby is starting to yawn, stretch – and even pull faces! He is still very skinny, with very little fat between skin and veins, but he has grown hugely in the last week or two and now measures around 12 cm and weighs around 100 grams.
