Week 16 of your Pregnancy

You

Some time between now and week 20, you will probably start to feel a funny little butterfly movement in your tummy – that’s called ‘quickening’ and is the early sensations you’ll get of your baby moving about in the womb! Many women find this is a very comfortable part of pregnancy. Hopefully you are into a gentle exercise routine and you’re eating healthily. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, which will help reduce the incidence of constipation and urinary tract infection, which are both more common during pregnancy.

Baby

Your baby is now about 11-12 cm long and he’s piled on the weight, clocking in at around 80 grams. His legs have done lots of growing and are now a bit longer than his arms and with lots of room in there, and a bit more limb to propel him around, he’s probably doing a few laps of your uterus to keep fit!
