Finally! Palace announces Kate is in labour

It has been reported that Catherine, accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, travelled by car from Kensington Palace to St Mary's hospital in West London.

It is expected there will be no further news until the official birth announcement, as the world's media, who have camped outside the hospital for more than a week, begin the waiting game.

This will be the first child born to Kate and William, and regardless of gender will remain third in line to the throne.
