Piers Morgan shocked after being shut down over Meghan question

Piers Morgan was left stunned during an interview with Dame Joan Collins when she shut him down over a question about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's feud with the royal family.

"What do you make of what’s going on with the British royal family now, with Meghan, Harry, the feud, with [Prince] William, [Prince] Charles?" he asked during the interview on his new ITV series Life Stories.

But the actress and author, who was made a dame by the Queen in 2014, refused to weigh in on the situation.

"My lips are sealed on that subject," she told him. "I just don’t want to go on national TV and say what I think about Meghan and Harry, because look what happened to you."

The presenter seemingly appreciated Joan's response, saying: "Exactly, thank you!"

Piers famously quit his job and walked off Good Morning Britain after being slammed for his repeated criticism of Meghan following their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers copped backlash for suggesting Meghan's statement that she 'didn't want to live anymore' were false, as well as for years of ranting about the duchess on TV.

"I don’t believe a word she says," he said of Meghan's shocking claims made on Oprah.

However, when he was called out on-air by co-host Alex Beresford, he couldn't handle it.

Alex slammed Piers for his dislike of Meghan, saying "you’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, a number of times".

"And I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to,” he added.

"Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, yet you continue to trash her."

In response Piers, who had spent 30 minutes of the show the day prior criticising Meghan and Harry on the live show stormed off the set saying he was 'done with this', in a move that Beresford labelled 'pathetic'.

"Sorry can't do this," Piers said as he left the set.

Piers' relationship with Meghan famously soured after the pair enjoyed a casual friendship online and met up once for a drink in London.

At the time, in 2017, Piers called Meghan his 'old mate', but later changed his tune when the duchess stopped responding to his attempts at communication and, in his words, 'ghosted him'.
