Pierce Brosnan Celebrates Wife Keely on 23rd Wedding Anniversary: ‘My North, My South, My East and West’

The actor posted a heartfelt tribute to his "darling" wife on their Aug. 4 anniversary

Pierce Brosnan is honoring his wife Keely Shaye Brosnan on their 23rd wedding anniversary.

The actor, 71, celebrated the milestone moment with a special tribute to his “darling” wife Keely, 60, in a touching Instagram post on Sunday, Aug. 4.

“Happy 23rd anniversary my darling Keely,” Brosnan began in the caption. “My beautiful brown-eyed girl, my north, my south, my east and west. All my love, should I fall behind wait for me.”

Alongside his sweet message, the former James Bond star shared a collage of photos of himself and Keely over the years, including a throwback photo of them walking along a beach and a more recent image of them holding hands.

Brosnan’s tribute to Keely comes after she also honored the actor on their anniversary on Instagram Sunday.

Keely posted a carousel of photos of her and Brosnan’s wedding as she highlighted their wedding date and location as “August 4th, 2001, Ashford Castle, County Mayo, Ireland” in the caption.

“✨You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest person I have ever known,” she continued in her message. “FSF ✨ Happy Anniversary my love @piercebrosnanofficial ✨ Here’s to the next 23 years together. May they continue to be creative, adventurous, loving, inspiring, and joyful. ✨”

“Time flies on love’s wings,” Keely added.

Brosnan and Keely met in 1994 at a party in Mexico when she worked as a TV correspondent. They had their first date days later under the stars, Keely recalled to PEOPLE in 2001.

“There were fireworks going off over our heads,” she said at the time. “... We talked until 3 in the morning … he is an appealing man.”

The couple went on to have two children, sons Dylan, 27, and Paris, 23, before tying the knot in August 2001. Brosnan also shares three children, sons Christopher, 51, and Sean, 40 and late daughter Charlotte with his first wife, Cassandra Harris, who died of cancer in 1991.

Brosnan said of Keely to PEOPLE in 2001, “I found a great woman in Keely Shaye. Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good.”

In December 2023, the actor continued to open up about his marriage, telling Fox News, "We like each other a lot. We love each other a lot. And we've been down the road, and we've seen many, many hardships as families do, as we all do."
