Pete Alonso’s Wife Haley Says She Has ‘Chills’ After the Mets Star’s Huge Series-Winning Home Run
Alonso sent the New York Mets to the NLDS with his three-run homer in the top of the 9th

After a quiet season, New York Mets player Pete Alonso struck gold where it counts, hitting a three-run home run in the top of the 9th against the Milwaukee Brewers to secure a NL Wild Card series win on Thursday, Oct. 3 and send the Mets to the NLDS. The homer revived the Mets' season, which was looking like it was done for with the Brewers up 2-0 heading into the final inning, but Alonso wasn't ready to let the game go.
It was a home run moment had everyone talking, including wife Haley.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, Haley shared a video of the thrilling moment with a caption that simply read “INSANE!!!!!!” In an additional slide from the home run moment, she added “CHILLS.”

Per the New York Post, during a post-game interview, Pete spoke about his now-career highlight homer, saying “I wanted to be in that spot. I wanted to deliver for my team. I want to contribute in a positive way.”
The couple met while he was playing summer baseball in the Cape Cod League in 2015. Pete was attending the University of Florida, while Haley (née Walsh) went to Michigan State University, so the two maintained a long-distance relationship as they finished school.
"I just couldn't get enough of her," the MLB pro told ESPN in 2020. "For me, this was the one."

After getting engaged in November 2018, Pete and Haley wed in Tampa, Florida, three years later. “For all the days of my life,” Haley wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the pair kissing after their nuptials.
