Our furry friends have proved to be lifesavers as far as our mental health goes, particularly over the last couple of years as pet ownership increased during the pandemic.

But now that holidays and travel are back on the agenda, we're not quite as willing to leave our canine and feline companions behind as we head off for time out.

In fact, research from Booking.com has revealed that 25% of Aussie travellers plan to choose their next stay based on how pet-friendly it is and 24% admit that if they can't bring their pet on their trip it will affect the accommodation they choose.

It's clear that pet-friendly stays are something that Aussies need, so here are some of the best homes and hotels across Australia that offer a welcoming environment for guests and their furry companions.
