Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has given birth to her first child with footballer boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 28-year-old singer revealed the news to her 13 million Instagram followers with a picture of the new arrival's tiny hands and feet.

"Welcome to the world baby," Edwards wrote in her caption, alongside the baby's date of birth — 21 August, 2021.

Edwards's bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who is expecting a child of her own, added a comment to the post.

"I am so proud of you and I love you so much. What an angel," she wrote.

Other famous faces rushed to congratulate the star in the comments section, with Stacey Solomon, Laura Whitmore and Winnie Harlow among those sharing words of welcome to the baby.

Eagle-eyed fans suggested Edwards might have gone into labour when Oxlade-Chamberlain was absent from Liverpool's matchday squad for their match against Burnley on Saturday.

The couple began dating in 2017 and announced they were expecting a child in May of this year.

"So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate," Edwards wrote on Instagram as she revealed she was pregnant. "Me + Him = You... We can't wait to meet you baby Ox."

Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain's baby is one of three new arrivals in the Little Mix family this year, with both Pinnock and the group's manager Samantha Cox also expecting.

In an interview earlier this year, Edwards revealed she had been concerned about telling her bandmates about the pregnancy given their busy schedule, only for things to be made easier when she found out her baby was one of three.
