Yahoo Lifestyle David Tennant Called Kylie Jenner A “Lookalike” At This Year’s BAFTAs, And People Can’t Decide If She Got The Joke Or Not
In case you missed it, the BAFTAs took place on Sunday night, with some of the biggest names in Hollywood descending on London, England, to honor the best movies of the last year. Among them was Timothée Chalamet, the star of the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, which has landed Timmy a Best Actor nod at pretty much every major awards ceremony.
Timothée was joined at the BAFTAs by his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and the ceremony’s host, David Tennant, was keen to include her as he riffed with the star-studded audience throughout the show.
At one point in the night, David approached Timothée in the audience and referenced the now-infamous moment when he attended his own lookalike competition in New York City back in October.
If you need reminding, a $50 cash prize was up for grabs for the most convincing Timmy dupe, and a 21-year-old Staten Island resident called Miles Mitchell ended up taking home the crown — even though Timothée himself had infiltrated the event.
Poking fun at this recent incident during the BAFTAs, David told the crowd: “We’re very privileged tonight to be joined by the runner-up in New York’s recent Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition! Welcome to the BAFTAs, young man! I can see it; there’s a definite likeness, isn’t there?”
He then asked the actor how long he is in London for, and when Timothée said three days, David continued with the gag as he quipped: “You’ve got to work on the voice, not quite got the voice yet.” Turning his attention to Kylie, who was sitting beside Timothée, David then added: “But lovely attention to detail, you’re with a Kylie Jenner lookalike! Well done, well done team!”
But Kylie’s response to this final joke has divided viewers, with the reality TV star laughing along as she pointed to herself and theatrically repeated: “It’s me!” This has prompted some people to theorize that she didn’t understand what David was referencing when he called her a “lookalike,” with one of the top comments on a TikTok clip of the moment reading: “kylie did not get the joke i fear 😭😭”

“Kylie has no idea who anyone is or what’s going on 😂” another echoes. Somebody else wrote: “The way she didn’t get his joke either 😭😭”
“Her saying ‘it’s me, it’s me’ ahahah not getting the joke,” one more commented.
But others were more forgiving, with one user arguing: “😭😭I think she was just being playful. Like she got the joke but didn’t know if she should just laugh or have a little bit of banter.”
“i got the joke and would have reacted the same way,” somebody else wrote, while another echoed: “My thing is I wouldn’t have known HOW to react and that’s probs what happened there.”
One more concluded: “I’m pretty sure she was joking as well.”
