People Are Revealing The Mandela Effects They Will Go To Their Graves Disagreeing With, And You Might Refuse To Accept These Too
There are hills to die on, and then there are Mandela Effect hills — where reality warps just enough to make you question if you're living in a glitchy simulation. For example, Queen’s song "We Are the Champions" doesn’t end with "...of the world," though many people will very much fight you that it does.
Recently, redditor EnvironmentalAngle was curious about what Mandela Effect hills people were willing to die on when they asked: "What Mandela Effect will you go to your grave disagreeing with?"
Needless to say, people had lots of thoughts on this and the thread got over 3K responses. Below are the top, best, and most-often repeated Mandela Effects people swear are real:
1."For me, it's the fact that the term 'bucket list' didn't exist before the 2007 Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman movie. I swear I remember it being used before then, and I am certain I remember my dad and grandma talking about it in the '90s."
"Man, I just went down a rabbit hole trying to confirm if this was true or not. As far as I can tell, the term did exist before the movie, but it was nowhere near as common, and there's no clear evidence it was ever used in that exact context, describing a list of things to do before you die.
The writer of the movie even claims he came up with the term himself in 1999. And that's backed up a bit, at least, by Google Trends showing 0 search popularity for the term from 2004 to 2006. I even tried searching Google Books for references to it from the 20th century and couldn't find any that actually use it with the modern definition."
2."The intro to Disney movies where Tinker Bell flies from around the back of the castle logo, does a loop in front of the screen, and then swishes and flicks her wand and speaks/dust erupts from the tip. I swear that I’ve seen it on the old VHS tapes, and I will go to my grave arguing about it."

"Just to clarify, this is when Tinker Bell flies in with the Disney castle featured prominently, makes the loop, and dots the Disney 'I' with her wand. A Google search of 'Tinker Bell intro Mandela Effect' has lots of articles for and against this particular effect specifically."
3."The Fruit of the Loom one. I will never believe there was never a cornucopia."
"I remember learning what a cornucopia was BECAUSE of the Fruit of the Loom logo in 6th grade in the mid-'90s. Now I'm doubting my whole existence."
4."That there was a robber emoji!"
5."Richard Simmons never wore a headband. I believe he did, but Google says otherwise."
"I’m fairly certain this was explained by someone using a headband in a popular parody of him."
6."That Kit Kat bars had a hyphen."
"This is one that I feel doesn't get enough attention. When I was a kid, I'd get a Kit Kat if I behaved in the store, and I always tried to bite on the dash, as I figured that was probably half."
7."Berenstein Bears vs. Berenstain Bears. I read those books from childhood well into adulthood, as my mom is a K-2 reading teacher."
8."Febreze with two 'E' — 'Febreeze.' Like, why would it be missing an 'E'? Doesn’t that make it sound weird?"
"I actually had a panic attack over this one! No idea why, but I firmly remember it was 'Febreeze.'"
9."For me, it’s that there was a scene at the end of You’ve Got Mail with Meg Ryan’s character reading to kids at Fox’s Books in a new kids section they seemingly built for her. Apparently, no such scene existed, but I could’ve sworn there was."

"Yes. This. A thousand times this. I watched it again recently and was amazed to find that that scene and plot point simply wasn't included."
10."It was spelled Chic-Fil-A. I remember eating there for the first time after watching Star Wars Episode 1 in the theater. I specifically remember talking about how dumb it was that they spelled it Chic and not Chick. I remember the conversation like it was yesterday. It makes no sense!!!"
11."Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing. I have distinct memories of stocking them when I worked at Albertsons."
"I clearly remember the commercials for it. The alliteration made it stand out."
12."I swear I once saw an extra scene in Back to the Future Part II where Marty walks past the Cafe '80s and sees 'Baby On Board' signs in the window. He says, 'I don’t remember those.' Because they were popular only in the late '80s. I think I saw it in a version on an airplane. I own the movie on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, and Blu-ray, and I've never seen it on any of those versions."
"It was in the novelization, so you're not completely crazy. The book describes Marty entering Cafe '80s and noticing that it wasn't accurate, specifically the 'Baby On Board' signs."
13."The Monopoly man has a monocle!"
"I think that’s people conflating the imagery of Mr. Peanut and the Monopoly man since they have similar tastes in attire."
14."That it's not Smokey THE Bear [and is actually Smokey Bear]."
15."I was so, so sure the book/movie was called Interview with A Vampire, not Interview with THE Vampire."
16."There is a woman smoking in the Gracie Films closing tag after every Simpsons episode."
"Did this not happen in this timeline??? I very much remember this post-credit scene after every episode in the early '90s. I can remember seeing it in the rental house my parents had when I was in elementary school. I have a vivid memory of this one... I'm sure it existed."
17."The Shazam movie with Sinbad! I swear I watched basically the same movies, one with Sinbad and one with Shaq. Even though Shaq's was named Kazaam, Shazam was nearly identical. One was clearly a knock-off of the other."

"I distinctly remember disliking both movies as a kid and thinking it was stupid that one copied the other."
18."The tail on Mickey Mouse. It was never there when I was a kid."

"I think it got tucked into his pants a lot in the ‘90s, gets left out for stuff like the costumed character and some video games, too."
19."That it's always been 'Flavor Flav' and not 'Flava Flav.'"
"I watched Flavor of Love. One of the girls called him Flava, and he corrected her, saying that's someone else. He's Flavor."
20."That Britney Spears wore a headset in the 'Oops!... I Did It Again' music video."
"Bruh, I didn't even know this WAS a Mandela Effect, and now my day is ruined. The headset mic is real in my heart."
21."Ed McMahon and Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes. My mind can simply not accept that it is wrong in this."
"Ed McMahon never actually had anything to do with Publishers Clearing House. PCH never even had a celebrity spokesman. He was a spokesman for another company, American Family Publishing, but never left the studio. So, all of the people (like me) who remember Ed McMahon knocking on doors with the Prize Patrol holding a giant check are Mandela Effect victims."
22."Taco Bell definitely had medium salsa packets!"
"I worked at Taco Bell in the late '90s. At that time, we only had hot and mild. Then there was the big deal when they added FIRE. And I’d be running drive-thru asking people if they wanted “hot, mild, or fire sauce,” and people would often say “hot mild, please.” There was no medium."
23.And lastly, "Mister Rogers will always say to me, 'Beautiful day in the neighborhood.' NOT, 'Beautiful day in this neighborhood.' I will die on this hill."
"I've never heard this one before. It was always 'THE.' We can die on that hill together, my friend."
