People Are Heartbroken After Discovering The Real Reason Raven-Symoné Always Wore Heels On The Disney Channel

If you watched That’s So Raven back in the day, you’ll know that protagonist Raven Baxter is nothing short of a style icon.

Across the 2003 Disney series, which starred Raven-Symoné, the leading high school student and aspiring fashion designer was always seen rocking a bunch of chic outfits — almost all of which featured high heels.

Raven also rocked a bunch of iconic fits when she starred in The Cheetah Girls movies, which aired on Disney throughout the 2000s, too.

However, Raven has now revealed that she was constantly in heels on Disney to appear “thinner.”

“There is an understanding that if you’re short and you wear heels, it thins you out,” Raven said during a recent appearance on The Unplanned Podcast. “‘Cause if you look taller, the proportions work out.”

“Behind the scenes, my team — and, I’m sure, conversations — always led to me wearing heels,” she said, before pointing out the fact that in The Cheetah Girls, her character is the only one who struts around in heels.

“When you look at That’s So Raven, every single outfit had heels. I would be wearing heels and pajamas sometimes, just because it makes you look thinner,” she said.

Raven then noted that she wishes her team hadn’t said anything about her image or weight during her Disney days. “It was a different time period. Nobody was my size at that time,” she added.

Reacting to Raven’s comments online, several former Disney fans were left heartbroken, admitting that they simply thought her character wore heels because she was such a style icon.

“I always thought it was because her character was into fashion,” one TikTok comment read. “I always assumed it was just to make Raven seem more glamorous,” someone echoed.

“And here i was just thinking she was serving 24/7 😢,” one fan wrote. “I always thought it was just part of her character’s style. This is so sad 🥺,” said another.

“I always thought it was because raven in the show was such a fashionista so that’s why she always had heels on. I would NEVER had guess it was for weight 🥺,” one more heartbroken user commented.

“I never looked at Ravens weight growing up, I genuinely loved her so much. ALL of her! She was such a big part of my childhood,” someone said.

“I loved watched That’s so Raven growing up she was my idol and inspiration but it’s kinda hard to watch knowing how problematic the team has treated her behind the scenes,” another user added.
