People are freaking out over Netflix's new horror trailer

Netflix has just dropped a teaser trailer for their upcoming series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and it’s incredibly creepy.

Gone are the days of the cheerful, happy-go-lucky Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, because this adaption looks to have been flipped on its head to become a dark horror drama.

However, coming from producers of Riverdale, we can’t say we’re surprised by the eerie twist that Netflix is saying will be, “Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.

In the trailer – which appears to have a whole lot of things go up in flames – opens with a creepy rendition of the song ‘Happy Birthday’ as Sabrina, played by Kiernan Shipka from Mad Men, celebrates her 16th birthday surrounded by some spooky family members.

The show looks to include elements of high-school drama and a love story, likely with Harvey (Ross Lynch) as in the original. However, the similarities stop there when the trailer cuts to dark alley streets, mystical creatures, and some seriously chilling witchcraft scenes.

And just to add to the spookiness, the teaser ends with a black cat walking in the path of the screen which as most people know, is never a good sign.

Here’s how fans are responding so far:

The series is set to be available on October 26 – just in time for Halloween.
