The internet has spoken! Gus Walz is the superhero of the DNC!
In case you missed it, vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz gave a phenomenal speech last night. After sharing the fertility struggles that he and his wife Gwen faced, the Minnesota governor gave a special shoutout to his family. "Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my entire world, and I love you," he said.
Moved to tears, Gus pointed at his father and applauded.
The 17-year-old stood up and yelled, "That's my dad!"
Gus's outpouring of love, his unabashed tears, the pride in his father — all of this captured the hearts of viewers across the country.
In a recent People interview, Tim and Gwen shared that Gus has a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder. "Like so many American families, it took us time to figure out how to make sure we did everything we could to make sure Gus would be set up for success as he was growing up. It took time, but what became so immediately clear to us was that Gus’ condition is not a setback — it’s his secret power," they said.
