Which Paul Brother Is Richer: Logan or Jake?

Logan Paul, millionaire YouTube star, is gearing up to watch his brother Jake Paul fight boxing legend Mike Tyson on Friday, Nov. 15. Like his brother, Logan is a boxer himself, having squared off against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2021 among others. He’s now a WWE wrestler, so safe to say he and Jake can hold their own in a fight (even if some of those fights are gimmicks).

Most people don’t know Paul for his wrestling or boxing, though. The 29-year-old is one of the most famous—not to mention richest—social media influencers in the world. His main YouTube channel has over 23 million subscribers, and together, his channels have amassed over 5.8 billion views, according to Fox Sports. But just how much money does one make as a YouTuber?

Logan Paul, born in April 1995 in Westlake, Ohio, grew up at a time when social media was not only becoming popular, but also turning into a source of income for favored creators. He started uploading videos on YouTube at just 10 years old. By his late teens, he’d switched to Vine as his main platform, where he posted to an audience of millions.

Those who’ve had social media for a while will remember Vine, a short-form video app that was around from 2013 to 2017. Paul’s account maximized the six-second limit that creators got for each video, and he mostly performed stunts, told jokes and played pranks. According to Business Insider, by the time Vine shut down, his account had 9.4 million followers.

During his Vine reign, Paul successfully transitioned many of those followers to his other social media accounts on Twitter and Instagram. He also steadily gained traction on YouTube, with his channels TheOfficialLoganPaul (started in 2013) and later, loganpaulvlogs (started in 2015).

In 2014, he dropped out of college and moved to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career. He began taking acting roles, starring in ad campaigns, and growing his YouTube channels until he became one of the biggest names on the platform.

How much does Logan Paul make from YouTube?

As Paul makes money from a variety of sources, including YouTube, brand partnerships, his WWE contract, boxing matches and more, it’s hard to say exactly what comes from YouTube and what comes from his other revenue streams.

What did Logan Paul make for fighting Mayweather?

When Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought in June 2021, no winner was declared. This was because it was an exhibition match, though most viewers seemed to agree Mayweather controlled the fight.

According to The New York Times, both fighters made millions from the televised bout. How many millions is a matter of speculation. Beforehand, Mayweather reportedly expected to earn $100 million, and Paul expected $20 million. Meanwhile, an unsubstantiated source reported that Mayweather was guaranteed $10 million and 50% of the pay-per-view buys, while Paul was guaranteed $250,000 and 10% of the pay-per-view.

Since the fight sold over 1 million pay-per-view buys, no matter what the split was it’s obvious why The New York Times feels comfortable saying they made millions.
