Pat Sajak Set to Return to TV in Exciting Update for Fans of 'Wheel of Fortune'
Pat Sajak is coming back for one "final spin" of the wheel, taking on his last season as host of the Wheel of Fortune spin-off, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
The exciting news was revealed as part of ABC's fall TV date announcements, along with the news that Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will premiere on Oct. 7 and will air on Mondays whenever there isn't Monday Night Football. The episodes will air at 8 p.m. each week, followed by Press Your Luck. It remains unclear what will air at 10 p.m. slot.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune's Instagram account shared the exciting news as well, writing, "It’s the final spin for Pat Sajak as host when @celebritywheeloffortune premieres October 7 at 8/7c on ABC. Stream on Hulu."
Some fans were confused by the news, such as one who wrote, "So what’s the point of him leaving," while others were simply excited to have Sajak back one more time.
"Holy cow, we got one more time with the Sajak, but in prime time," said one fan, while others reacted, "It will be nice to see Pat one last time! I can’t wait! 🔥," and "Looking forward to it !"
While fans are happy to see Sajak and Vanna White team up for this last season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, they already said goodbye to the popular duo on Wheel of Fortune, as new host Ryan Seacrest took over Sajak's position in June. But Sajak is still involved in another way, with the 77-year-old taking on a consultant position for the next three years, as reported by Deadline.
It's unclear how much longer Vanna—who has been on Wheel of Fortune alongside Sajak since 1982—intends to stay with the game show, but for now, she'll continue on as the co-host fans know and love, most recently sharing a dining photo with Seacrest, captioned: "Friends on and off camera. Enjoying one of our favorites, Chicken and Dumplings!"
