Paramount+ With Showtime Unveils Docu ‘The Honey Trap: A True Story Of Love, Lies And The FBI’ From Filmmaker Chris Moukarbel – Watch The Trailer

EXCLUSIVE: Paramount+ on Wednesday announced The Honey Trap: A True Story of Love, Lies and The FBI, a new feature documentary from Emmy-nominated filmmaker Chris Moukarbel (Gaga: Five Foot Two) that will premiere on the Paramount+ with Showtime plan on Friday, December 6th, debuting on-air at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The Honey Trap is a a dramatic tale of espionage, propaganda, and romance, following the infamous Berlin rapper Denis Cuspert (aka Deso Dogg) and his journey from artist to MMA fighter to ISIS recruiter. When the FBI assigns translator Daniela Greene to monitor Cuspert, her quest to get close to him takes over her life. Through their complex relationship, the film reveals the powers that shape our world and what happens to those who step into the crossfire.

Hailing from Showtime Studios and Vespucci, The Honey Trap is produced by Moukarbel, Bridie Bischoff, Daniel Turcan and Johnny Galvin for Vespucci. Exec producers included Ricky Lloyd George, Hans Charles, Karam Ghossein and Emily Dische-Becker, as well as Nina L. Diaz for Showtime Studios.

In addition to the Lady Gaga doc Gaga: Five Foot Two, following the pop star through the production and release of her album Joanne and her Super Bowl LI performance, Moukarbel is known for films including Me at the Zoo, Banksy Does New York, and Wig. Most recently, he directed the Tribeca prize-winner Cypher — a pseudo-music documentary about the artist Tierra Whack — for Hulu. Moukarbel is repped by UTA, Heroes and Villains Entertainment, and Levy Law.
