The best beauty looks from the Oscars red carpet
It’s the biggest night in Tinseltown, with Hollywood’s elite stepping out in their glad rags at the Dolby Theatre in LA for the Oscars.
Dripping in diamonds and designer garb, celebrities arrived in their droves to be photographed in front of streams of waiting photographers.
But all we could look at were the incredible beauty looks on the red carpet. From daring red lips to pared back minimalism and pops of colour, the stars really went all out this year in the glam stakes.
Take a look at some of our favourites below:
Janelle Monáe
As if Janelle’s sequinned Ralph Lauren gown wasn’t enough to have us all awestruck when she arrived on the red carpet, she pulled off an epic beauty look as well. The star went for perfectly applied eyeliner, sweeping lashes and a killer red lip.
Margot Robbie
Aussie actress Margot Robbie never lets us down in the style stakes and she did it again on Sunday night, showing up at the Oscars sporting lashings of red lipstick, a neutral-toned eyeshadow palette and strong brows. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star kept her hair slicked back away from her face and styled it in soft waves.
Rebel Wilson
Just like her fellow Australian actress, Margot Robbie, Rebel Wilson went for an old Hollywood glamour look on the night, coiffing her hair into glamorous waves and rocking a red lip.
Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman made sure all eyes were on her with her outfit choice at the Oscars- wearing a Christian Dior cape embroidered with the names of female directors snubbed by this year’s awards - but she also made a bold statement with her beauty look. The actress went for a neutral palette, opting for a crisp cat eye, smokey eyeshadow and nude lipstick.
Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara is known for her ethereal glow at events and she killed it again at the Oscars with this modern makeup look. The actress decided to ditch the eyeliner and made her glam all about her super long lashes and plum lipstick.
Sandra Oh
Sandra Oh commanded the red carpet with her beautiful bubblegum pink dress by Zac Posen and she also aced her beauty look. Sandra’s skin looked flawless under the bright red carpet lights, with her peachy blusher and nude lipstick complementing her sequinned gown.
Saoirse Ronan
The Irish actress brought a pop of colour to the red carpet, showing up wearing lavender eyeshadow. Saoirse kept the rest of her look very minimal, simply pairing her eye look with black eyeliner, nude lipstick and peach blush.
Blac Chyna
One look everyone has been talking about from the night is Blac Chyna’s uber glam makeup. The reality star showed up early on the red carpet, posing for photographers and showing off her matte look, which consisted of nude lipstick and matching lipliner, sweeping fake eyelashes and contour.
