Olivia Flowers Talks New Boyfriend, Says Repairing Friendship with Taylor Ann Green 'Is Not Happening'
"She was lying to my face and I felt it," Olivia Flowers said of Taylor Ann Green during the second part of the 'Southern Charm' reunion, which aired Thursday
Southern Charm season 9 came to an end on Thursday night, but that doesn’t mean all of the issues wrapped up with a nice little bow.
During part 2 of the Southern Charm reunion, Olivia Flowers shared that she has a new boyfriend named Alex who lives in Dallas.
“I took Madison [LeCroy]’s advice on looking outside of Charleston,” Olivia, 31, told host Andy Cohen.
Alex even met Olivia’s ex Austen Kroll when she and Austen, 36, vacationed in the Bahamas with mutual friends in November.
“I told Alex, I was like, ‘Well, you know you don’t have to be like besties with him, just be cordial,’” Olivia recalled. “And he’s like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s fine.’ Then four hours later, I look and they’re driving up together in their golf cart.”
While Olivia might’ve moved on from Austen, she hadn’t forgiven Taylor Ann Green for kissing him.
“I’ve been pulling away because we had had so many conversations that were going so wrong,” Olivia said. “She was lying to my face and I felt it. And Austen stepped in at a time where I was very vulnerable and broke in and I bonded with him and there were unresolved feelings there.”
Andy, 55, pointed out that some people felt she gave a pass to Austen, but not Taylor. “I do understand how it looks like I’m giving passes,” Olivia said. “But I really tried with Taylor, and it didn’t get me anywhere.”
Olivia then directed her disdain towards Taylor, telling her, “You were not thinking about me not once this season.”
Venita Aspen shed some light on how the rest of the group felt about Taylor. “I don’t think any one of us hates you,” she told the Day Chaser brand rep. “I think all of us are extremely disappointed in your behavior and that has caused a major setback with the girls.”
Andy eventually asked Olivia what she needed from Taylor in order to repair that friendship.
“That is not happening,” Olivia declared, saying to Taylor, “I will not be friends with you, but I’m not going to make this miserable for you, I’m not going to be negative. We can move forward, that doesn’t necessarily mean together.”
SHEP’S NEW NORMAL
Austen revealed that his and Shep Rose’s friendship had recently undergone a schism, too.
“I hate that I don’t talk to you,” Shep, 43, said.
Austen told the Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar author he “thought that we needed a break” after BravoCon 2023, where Shep overindulged.
“I think Austen was so loyal to you at BravoCon ‘cause he felt he might be a reason you were spiraling,” Craig Conover said.
Austen wanted to try to mend the friendship, though.
“I always will want to move forward with the friendship,” he said. “I don’t even know what that world looks like to not be great buds with you, Shep. Part of the thing here is that I’ve been an enabler for a long time. I’ve been a part of it. Like, we cut it up with the best of them.”
Andy suggested Shep and Austen finding activities to do together that don’t involve alcohol.
“Maybe it’s time I sort of cultivate relationships in another vein,” Shep agreed.
Craig, 34, thought that sounded “very wise” of Shep. “The three of us, we have so much history and we travel, we do everything together,” the Sewing Down South founder said. “But I think that you finding your new normal is important.”
Shep’s new normal had been one without Taylor as his girlfriend, which he’d begun to reconsider.
After Taylor revealed she still has “a lot of love” for Shep, he concurred, “I have a lot of love for you, too.”
Andy asked Taylor if that meant she was in love with Shep, and she said “no.”
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t recently say, ‘I made a mistake,’” Shep confessed. “You know, and I’m scared to look back and say that like, one that got away … so I’d be lying if I said that wasn't the case.”
A NEWCOMER’S RETRIBUTION
Jarrett “JT” Thomas also lamented a life without Taylor as his girlfriend.
“I fell in love with Taylor last year pretty hard, actually,” JT, 38, acknowledged. “And I’m not ashamed to admit that.”
Taylor called JT an “amazing human being” who she finds “fun to be around.” But when Andy pointed out that JT doesn’t treat her “like s---” and “you don’t like that,” Taylor conceded, “I guess not.”
Austen said he and JT hadn’t spoken since JT punched him. “I didn’t get in his face, he got in my face,” JT claimed.
JT believed he and Austen could patch things up.
“I think we’re beginning the process now by having hard conversations, like this is where you hear what it is to be an honest good friend and man, but you’ve gotta do the work, bro,” JT said to Austen. “It’s not words, it’s time and effort and authenticity. I want to root for you but you gotta be held accountable.”
“I think I’ve been held accountable for a long time,” Austen replied.
JT referred to the reunion as “f---boy therapy,” but ultimately decided that Austen had not been fully exorcized.
