After Receiving Online Criticism For Her Wedding Dress And Makeup, Olivia Culpo Responded
Olivia Culpo responded to online critics of her wedding dress and makeup.
The former Miss Universe defended her hair, makeup, and dress choices on her wedding to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
The pair were married on June 29, 2024, in Rhode Island. Olivia wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress with a 16-foot lace veil that she described to Vogue as "timeless, covered and elegant."

"I didn't want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form," Olivia said. "I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it's complimenting me, not overpowering me. There's so much beauty and simplicity."
When the dress and her comments went viral, she received online criticism for her choices. On TikTok, Gown Eyed Girl creator Kennedy Bingham said in a viral video the dress had "an absence of personality" and called Olivia a "pick me" for her message behind selecting the dress.
"It's very clear that this was not a wedding," Kennedy said in her video. "This was a conservative campaign, and it wasn't even well done … You took this disingenuous pick me route that honestly felt more like you were thinking about your narrative than your actual marriage."
Olivia responded, "Wow what an absolutely evil person you are. I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it's extremely hurtful. I love this dress, and it was everything I wanted and more."
Christian also responded on Kennedy's Instagram, where the same video critique was uploaded, writing, "What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does."
It wasn't just Olivia's dress that received online backlash.
People had something to say about her makeup and Vogue's coverage of her image. The publication read, "Culpo tells Vogue she wore little makeup, forgoing mascara and eyebrow gel in favor of a pared-back look."
In another viral video, TikTok user Jessica Weslie Arena blasted the outlet for ignoring that Olivia had undergone a lash lift to lengthen her eyelashes. "Olivia Culpo has a lash lift. Like, please zoom in. The lashes are lifting, so obviously she's not going to be wearing any mascara!"
In a second TikTok video, Jessica said Vogue's statements are "deceiving" and attributing her look to "natural beauty" sends "a bad message to young girls."
Olivia previously denied getting eyebrow lamination or lash extensions and responded to Jessica's video saying, "It was an interview….. they asked me what my makeup was……………………….."
The accusations are interesting, to say the least, since Olivia opened up about her skincare and injectables process in an Instagram AMA not long before her wedding. The American model seems no stranger to being candid about her beauty, but nobody's safe from internet opinions.
