Olive Garden ‘Concerned’ Over Disturbing Breadstick Incident

One diner got a little more than they bargained for during a recent night out enjoying Olive Garden's unlimited breadsticks deal.

The beloved baked good, as seen in a photo uploaded to TikTok by the consumer, appeared to have been inked with a serial number, or at least part of one: "O K6." Unfortunately, they made it about halfway through the stick in question before noticing, even having dipped the end in marinara in preparation for the next bite.

"Guys, why is there letters on my Olive Garden breadstick?" a filtered voice questioned alongside the photo, which was posted earlier this month.

Plenty of other social media users had reasonable explanations for the admittedly startling discovery, with some pointing out that the breadsticks come frozen and the one in question likely absorbed ink from the label on its packaging.

"It looks like what happens when like a Walmart bag for example is stuck to something with moisture," someone else agreed. "The letters attach like a temp tattoo."

Even a former employee got involved, confirming it "looks like the coding on the plastic bags they come in with their package date."

Still, the company was "concerned" by the discovery, commenting on the TikTok video, "We are concerned to see this," and asking the user to "please send an email" with their full name and the location they visited, so that corporate could further investigate.

"Even Olive Garden concerned," a top-liked comment noted in response, with over 100,000 people agreeing.

According to a follow-up video posted by the user, the company sent a $100 gift card for the trouble, though they didn't share the outcome of the investigation.

Still, those following along from home were pleased with the way the company handled the situation, with one responding that "olive garden does NOTT [sic] playyy [sic]," and another asserting that "THEY CLOCKED THATTT [sic]."
