What goes around comes around, and it’s not just JT who thinks so. Vintage items have never been so hot and now an unlikely player has entered the scene.

First it was skinny brows, then bum bags, now Tupperware is having a moment and you could cash in big.

After experts have revealed that that old Pyrex collection gathering dust in your kitchen cupboard could fetch you up to $7k as a vintage item, there’s been a rush to capitalise on pre-loved items of the air-tight variety.

Well look no further than your old school lunchbox because certain Tupperware pieces are going for a pretty penny on Ebay and Etsy.

The Servalier range is among the most popular vintage lines Photo: <a href="https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/679677347/g846-vintage-set-of-three-bright-orange?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=tupperware+servalier&ref=sc_gallery-1-5&plkey=a3d8c028b930b64f0160a751dc2faa6aaf551aef%3A679677347" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:Etsy;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">Etsy</a>

While the profits to be made are more modest than last year’s Pyrex craze, there’s still some cash to be made from the right kind of Tupperware and experts know exactly what you should be looking for.

Experts reportedly say the Wonderlier and Servalier lines are particularly hot, as is the 1950’s Millionaire range.

The classic Wonderlier line is also in high demand Photo: <a href="https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/650085810/vtg-tupperware-wonderlier-5-bowl-mixing?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=tupperware+Wonderlier&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&cns=1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:Etsy;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">Etsy</a>

Collector and expert Stacy Verdick Case told Today that owners are selling complete sets for ‘a couple hundred of dollars’, and if you’ve got the right range, you could be too.

If they look familiar that’s because the classic pieces were a feature of many a childhood kitchen and may be hiding in plain sight.

But according to Case, it’s not just about having a complete set. If the pieces aren’t authentic, you can kiss your side hustle goodbye. Luckily they are relatively easy to authenticate.

“To authenticate any piece of Tupperware, look for a two-part number (its mould number) stamped somewhere on the product and make sure the word ‘Tupperware’ is also visible,” she told New Idea.

Time to start rummaging around mum’s old kitchenware, and remember to make sure it’s legit.

Happy hunting!
