'Now You See Me 3' Welcomes Back an Original Cast Member and Says Goodbye to a Fan Favorite

The Now You See Me disappearing act is coming to a close.

Fans of the magic heist movie franchise are gearing up for the third installment, currently in post-production and heading to theaters in less than a year. While the plot has yet to be announced, it's sure to deliver the trick-filled suspense that audiences loved in the first two.

Now You See Me premiered in 2013 and, despite mixed reactions from critics, performed extremely well at the box office. The sequel arrived three years later in 2016 to a similarly strong box office result along with tepid reviews. Perhaps the third film will be a bigger hit with critics.

"It's unbelievable,” Jesse Eisenberg, who plays J. Daniel Atlas, told Entertainment Tonight. “The cast is amazing. The story is so fun and complicated in a really fun puzzle way. It's just a pleasure to be in these movies.”

Here’s a closer look at Now You See Me 3, including the release date and which cast members will reprise their roles.

What is the release date for Now You See Me 3?

The original Now You See Me premiered in 2013 and the follow-up, Now You See Me 2, came out in 2016. The third film took a little longer to make, getting caught up in industry-wide delays during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite delays, filming has wrapped and the movie is officially in post-production. Now You See Me 3 is slotted for a theater release on Nov. 14, 2025.

What is Now You See Me 3 about?

Plot details of Now You See Me 3 haven’t been released, but Eisenberg confirmed it would be similar to the first two: a cerebral suspense story.

“For me, the thing I love about it so much … it celebrates intelligence and it’s non-violent but exciting, and it's so weird to see that because it sounds so obvious, and it sounds like that would be common, but it's actually quite uncommon to have a movie that's this franchise, this Hollywood-style movie that's really just about teamwork and intelligence, rather than just violence,” he told Collider in March 2024.

With much of the main cast returning, the next heist is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

How did Now You See Me 2 end?

For those rusty on their Now You See Me lore, the second film ended with the Four Horsemen, the central team of magicians in the franchise, exposing a technology tycoon played by Daniele Radcliffe. After wrapping up the mystery at the heart of the sequel, Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), the former FBI agent who became the Four Horsemen's handler, was appointed as the new head of the Eye, a secret society of magicians.
