In a newly posted Instagram, Gucci shared a series of short clips featuring elevated mountain views, ultimately teasing a new collaboration between the Italian fashion house and The North Face. The clips show off a co-branded flag, that has fans joking in the comments. One wrote, “This flag is worth more than my whole existence.”
According to a statement obtained by WWD, “Gucci and The North Face confirm that they will be bringing a collaboration to life in the coming months that celebrates the rich heritage of both brands.”
While not much else is known about the upcoming collaboration, it’s worth noting that teaming up with fashion brands is nothing new for The North Face. The American outerwear company recently worked with MM6 Maison Margiela for a Fall/Winter 2020 collection that unveiled last February during London Fashion Week. The North Face has also collaborated with brands like Supreme, Junya Watanabe and Hender.
Although Gucci is also no stranger to collaboration, WWD pointed out that “This would be the first time Gucci has worked on what could be a full-fledged collection with another brand since Alessandro Michele’s arrival as creative director five years ago.”
So what can you expect to see? We’re going to predict Michele’s signature quirk on technical outerwear and a whole lot of monograms.
More details to come.
